Thanksgiving is supposed to be about family and friends and at yesterday's festivities, neither was present. It's funny how you can be surrounded by people but feel like an island. Usually it still allows my brother and I to talk and spend time together as we try to escape the guests who we have absolutely no idea who they are. This year, he brooded, slept, ate, and then went back to sleep. If the holidays are about spending time with "your people," where are my people? Where have they all gone? Actually... it's more like where have I gone? Maybe next year can be about finding other people to connect to. Hope your festivities were better than mine, people! Happy turkey day.
